Creating beneficial opportunities for disadvantaged young people through sport.

Creating opportunities through sport

Full Court Connections established a Community Interest Company (CIC) to enable the impact of sport to create further beneficial opportunities for disadvantaged young people.

Sport creates numerous potential pathways for developing life skills towards building confidence and personal development, while improving physical and mental wellbeing and creating stronger, more connected communities.

The CIC, Fitness Community Connections, strongly believes in prevention and works with children starting at primary school age. FCC addresses absenteeism and exclusion which can potentially lead to anti-social behaviour, youth violence, engaging in or being a victim of bullying. Using a mentorship programme that’s also integrated within the Schools Programme, incentives and structured support are provided to enable children to improve their attendance, schoolwork and behaviour.

Aims and objectives

  • Challenging physical inactivity and unhealthy lifestyles
  • Supporting mental health and wellbeing
  • Addressing educational disengagement and exclusion
  • Providing positive role models

Building stronger communities

Fitness Community Connections seeks to build self-esteem and resilience, promote positive relationships, and create pathways to education, employment and personal development for children and families in local schools and communities.
